James Brown Winston : ウィキペディア英語版 | James Brown Winston James Brown Winston (1820–1884) was the first medical officer of the City of Los Angeles, California, in the 19th century. He also was a member of both the Los Angeles Common Council, the city's governing body, and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. Winston was born on May 26, 1820, in Culpeper County, Virginia, the son of William Alexander Winston and Mary Hooe () Wallace. He received a medical degree from the University of Virginia.〔 He was married around 1861 to Margarita Victoria Josefa Maria Luisa Bandini, daughter of California pioneer Juan Lorenzo Bruno Bandini and his second wife, Maria del Refugio Francisco Lugarda Arguello. Their children included John Bandini Winston, Carrie Winston, Mrs. E.M. Flowers, Mrs. Claude Ogden, Mrs. Lionel Ogden and Mrs. Albert Castle.〔〔〔(Eastvale/Bandini-from-San-Diego-History )〕〔() Possible previous spouses and other children are listed in U.S. census records posted at ancestry.com.〕 Winston died September 9, 1884, at the age of sixty-four.〔
